值此新春佳节之际，英国曼彻斯特中国城在2月1日与2月2日举办了盛大的庆典活动。苗苗汉语的师生也有幸在2月2日参加这次庆典活动，并为大家带来欢庆热闹的节日氛围。
During the Chinese New Year festivities, Manchester's Chinatown in the UK hosted a grand celebration on February 1st and 2nd. The students and staffs of MM Chinese Club had the honor of participating in the event on February 2nd, bringing a lively and festive atmosphere to the occasion.
早在前几周，曼城市中心的街头就已经为欢庆中国新年而挂起了红灯笼，每次路过都让人感到年味十足。在英国，诸如伦敦、曼彻斯特、利物浦一类的大城市都有自己的中国城、中国街，并且有着庆祝中国新年的习惯。哪怕身在海外，华人子女也能够切身感受到年味。
In the weeks leading up to the Chinese New Year, red lanterns had already been hung along the streets of Manchester city centre, creating a festive atmosphere with every passing glance. In the UK, major cities like London, Manchester, and Liverpool have their own Chinatowns or Chinese streets and a tradition of celebrating Chinese New Year. Even while living overseas, Chinese children can still truly experience the festive spirit of the New Year.
2月2日的新年庆祝活动更是吸引了曼城各地人们的关注。大家纷纷在庆典前走上街头，希望能够一睹舞龙、舞狮以及春节游行的盛况。在这一天，游行的队伍从伯多禄广场出发，沿街站满了围观的行人，热闹无比。除此以外，在中国城还有各种富有特色的摊位，在那里，你可以品尝糖葫芦、烤串等中国美食，也可以尝试将汉服穿在身上与大家合照，外国友人们还可以在摊位前收获自己独特的中文名字。
The New Year celebration on 2nd February attracted widespread attention from people across Manchester. Crowds gathered in the streets ahead of the festivities, eager to witness the spectacular dragon and lion dances as well as the Chinese New Year parade. On the day, the parade set off from St Peter’s Square, with spectators lining the streets in a lively and vibrant atmosphere. In addition to the parade, Chinatown hosted a variety of unique stalls. Visitors could enjoy traditional Chinese treats such as candied hawthorn skewers and grilled kebabs, try on Hanfu for photos, and even receive their own personalised Chinese names, much to the delight of many international visitors.
在2月2日，苗苗语文的小朋友们也有幸站上了中国城的舞台，为大家带来精彩的表演——《福气要来到》与《年兽的故事》。尽管我们的学生年龄不大，但是他们毫不怯场，自信地展示了自己的学习与排练结果。苗苗语文作为英国中文教育行业的领先者，不仅能为学生们提供优质的课程、负责的老师，同时也能够寓教于乐，让学生在丰富多彩的文化活动中展现自己的学习成果。正是这样的场合帮助学生认识到他们所学习的中文背后有着源远流长的文化传统以及丰富多元的节日习俗。经历了此次活动后，学生们的学习将会更加积极主动。
On 2nd February, the young students of Miaomiao Chinese School had the honour of performing on the stage in Chinatown, presenting a wonderful performance titled “Fortune Is Coming”and “The story of Nian Beast”. Despite their young age, our students showed no signs of stage fright, confidently showcasing the results of their learning and rehearsals. As a leading institution in Chinese education in the UK, MM Chinese Club not only offers high-quality courses and dedicated teachers but also integrates learning with fun. Through a variety of engaging cultural activities, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their progress. Events like this help students realise that the Chinese language they are learning is deeply rooted in a rich cultural heritage and diverse festive traditions. After this experience, they are expected to approach their studies with even greater enthusiasm and initiative.
