在本学期的后半段,我们的课堂迎来了一位新同学。为了帮助新同学更好地融入学习并让老同学巩固所学知识,胡老师决定调整课程安排,不再引入新的知识点(讲解口语会话《我的家人》和《我的身体》),而是对已学内容进行系统复习,并在此基础上进行延伸。这一调整使新同学可以加入我们的学习阵营,同时也为老同学提供了宝贵的复习机会,使同学们可以更加熟练的用中文打照顾,介绍自己,并使用数字。
In the second half of this semester, our class welcomed a new student. To help the new student integrate into learning and allow existing students to consolidate their knowledge, Ms. Hu decided to adjust the lesson plan. Instead of introducing new topics (such as spoken conversations on "My Family" and "My Body"), she systematically reviewed previously learned content and extended upon it. This adjustment enabled the new student to join our learning journey while providing valuable review opportunities for existing students. As a result, all students became more proficient in greeting each other, introducing themselves, and using numbers in Chinese.
我们的复习分别针对口语和书写两部分。在口语方面,我们重新回顾了拼音的发音规则和四声调的变化,让大家更加熟练地掌握汉语的发音方式。此外,胡老师安排了对话环节,引导同学用“大家好,我是Max, 今年10岁”句式相互自我介绍,鼓励同学们在课堂内外进行简单的中文交流,可以更加自信的表达自己。
Our review was divided into two parts: speaking and writing. In terms of speaking, we revisited the pronunciation rules of Pinyin and the four tones, helping students further master Chinese pronunciation. Additionally, Ms. Hu organised interactive dialogue sessions where students introduced themselves using the sentence pattern "大家好,我是 Max,今年 10 岁" ("Hello everyone, I am Max, I am 10 years old"). This encouraged students to communicate in simple Chinese both in and out of class, making them more confident in expressing themselves.
对于书写部分,我们复习了之前学过的基本汉字,如“人”、“大”、“天”、“口”、“土”、“田”等,并通过不断重复的书写练习,加强了同学们的记忆。同时胡老师在讲解独立结构字体的基础上引入了偏旁部首的概念,(1)让同学们了解到很多独立结构字体会作为偏旁在更复杂的字体中出现,比如“女”字会用作“女字旁”出现在和性别有关的汉子中。(2)让同学们了解到很多不能作为独体字运用的偏旁也表示特定的含义,如带“三点水”的汉字和“水”有关,两点水的汉字常和“寒冷”有关。
For the writing section, we reviewed fundamental Chinese characters such as "人" (person), "大" (big), "天" (sky), "口" (mouth), "土" (earth), and "田" (field). Repetitive writing exercises helped reinforce students' memory of these characters. On top of revisiting independently structured characters, Ms. Hu introduced the concept of radicals:
Students learned that many independent characters also serve as radicals in more complex characters. For example, the character "女" (woman) appears as the "女字旁" (female radical) in characters related to gender.
Students also discovered that some radicals, which are not standalone characters, convey specific meanings. For example, characters containing the "三点水" (three-dot water) radical are related to water, while characters with the "两点水" (two-dot water) radical often indicate coldness.
在复习的过程中,胡老师通过小游戏和互动练习,帮助同学们巩固所学内容,并进一步提升他们的理解能力。例如,在学习数字时,胡老师讲解和汉语数字的手势,并通过打不同的手势让同学们抢答对应的数字,以提高学生学习的积极性。我们不仅复习了一到十的汉字写法,还引导学生自己发现规律,说出到了更大的数字数数方式,并练习如何用中文表达年龄和年份,和百位,千位,万位的数字。
Throughout the review, Ms. Hu incorporated games and interactive exercises to help students consolidate knowledge and deepen their understanding. For instance, during the review of numbers, she introduced Chinese hand gestures for numbers. Students actively participated in a rapid-response game where they identified numbers based on hand gestures, making learning more engaging. Beyond reviewing how to write numbers one through ten, students were also encouraged to recognise patterns and explore counting methods for larger numbers. They practised expressing ages and years and understanding numerical values in the hundreds, thousands, and ten-thousands in Chinese.
最后,胡老师在下学期的最后一节课带领同学们系统回顾了中国象棋的历史典故和各种棋子的含义,并详细讲解了每种棋子的落子规则。在课堂的最后,8位同学分为两个战队相互对战。同学们在短时间内掌握了棋子的落子方式并实现了几处吃子,展现了强大的学习天赋!在课堂的最后,胡老师为大家颁发了结课证书,奖励大家本学期的认真学习,并希望大家可以在未来的学习中继续努力!
In the final lesson of the semester, Ms. Hu led students in a systematic review of the historical stories behind Chinese chess and the meanings of various chess pieces. She also provided detailed explanations of each piece's movement rules. At the end of the lesson, the eight students were divided into two teams for a friendly chess match. Impressively, they quickly grasped the rules, executed strategic moves, and even captured opponent pieces, demonstrating strong learning abilities!

To conclude the semester, Ms. Hu awarded completion certificates to all students, recognizing their dedication to learning. She also encouraged them to continue their efforts in future studies. Looking back at this semester's hard work and achievements, every student has made remarkable progress. Both new and existing students have significantly improved their Chinese skills through this review and reinforcement process. We look forward to continuing our Chinese learning journey next semester, and exploring even more exciting content together!
